Analytics

Data Scientist
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, (part of Endemol Shine Group) are looking for a talented Data Scientist interested in pushing the boundaries of mobile games’ analytics and game performance.
Your role within Good Catch
 You will have a passion for quantitative analysis and reporting, and the ability to draw business insights that will add real value to Good Catch. Responsibilities will include:
  • Providing the product team insightful data to support decision making and performance optimisation.
  • Creation of dashboards to expose and visualise player behaviour for review by the studio. (Currently with Google Data Studio)
  • Supporting the definition of in house data tools used for analytics, game economy optimisation & live operations.
  • Suggesting data driven changes to game systems to drive desired player behaviour on monetisation metrics.
  • Modelling the impact of game systems and player behaviour on monetisation metrics.
  • Identify opportunities and optimisations through in-depth data analysis.
  • Submitting reports on game performance, with an emphasis on engagement, retention and monetisation.
  • Collaborating closely with our free to play game designers, developers and marketing stakeholders..
Skills Required
You’re passionate about game analytics. You’re a creative and analytical problem solver. Other skills include:
  • 2+ years in a Analytics or Data Science role.
  • Proficiency in SQL is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of statistics, the ability to interpret these with confidence and drive through your recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Having a very good eye for detail with excellent problem solving skills.
Bonus Skills
  • 2+ years in a Free to Play Game Analytics role.
  • Experience of Data Studio.
  • Experience of mobile free to play Economy analytics.
  • Knowledge of LTV modelling.
  • Up-to-date knowledge with Game Analytics literature and best practices to continue driving our company expertise.

Art

Senior Games Artist
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, are looking for an experienced and talented Games Artist to join our team! We believe that great gaming experiences happen when they are developed by working in small, autonomous creative teams that control the whole process – from idea to amazing game.
Your role within Good Catch
The role requires the individual to take responsibility and deliver high quality graphic design and animations while working with specific product teams, under the guidance and support of the production and management team. Other responsibilities include:
  • Unifying art style and overall design within a product team.
  • Leading and directing the visual style of the game for their product team.
  • Responsible for accurate art estimates during the preproduction phase.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
  • Being creative! Openly suggesting more beautiful, fun and dynamic ways to do things, and back that them up by trying. We want to learn from you!
  • Collaborating closely with a product team including game designers, producers and developers.
The skills you hold:
You’re a very creative person with a passion for games. Other skills include:
  • 4 years of experience in an art role for mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
  • Great skills in illustration, animation and user interface design.
  • Ability to work in multiple varied art styles and adapt style for the target audience.
  • A proven track record of creating appealing characters and environments.
  • Excellent skills in the use of Adobe CS package.
  • Experience with game engines, in particular Unity 3D.
  • Experience in modelling and texturing environments using Maya / 3DS Max.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Creating repeatable processes to improve efficiency.
  • You must be able to present an extensive portfolio of work.
  • A very good eye for detail.

Developer
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, (part of Endemol Shine Group) are looking for a talented Developer join our team! You will be passionate about game development, and have experience of using Unity to create games.
Your role within Good Catch
Your main responsibility will be to develop one of our new games. You will be keen to broaden your skillset and learn new technologies and ways of working. This will include:
  • Developing client game logic for one of our upcoming games
  • Developing shaders, particle systems and custom effects.
  • Helping integrate 3rd party SDK’s.
  • Collaborating closely with your product team including other Unity Developers, artists, a Games Designer and Games Producer.
  • Analysing performance and optimising code across a range of devices and platforms.
The skills you hold:
You have a deep technical understanding and a passion for games. Other skills and assets include:
  • At least 1 year of experience developing 2D and 3D games for mobile platforms (iOS and Android) using Unity with C#.
  • Proficiency with C# and solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Creating repeatable processes to improve efficiency.
  • A very good eye for detail.
  • Calm under pressure with excellent problem solving skills.
  • Valid UK / EU passport or eligibility to work in the UK and EU long term.
A very good catch will have:
  • Experience of working on published products.
  • Understanding of networking and graphics, performance issues and tradeoffs.

Senior Developer
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, (part of Endemol Shine Group) are looking for an experienced and talented Developer to lead our new development! You will be passionate about game development, with multiple years of experience using Unity to create games and the desire to help other Developers benefit from this experience.
Your role within Good Catch
Your main responsibility will be to drive the development of one of our new games. You will be keen to broaden your skillset, learn new technologies and ways of working and mentor those of the team that you work with. This will include:
  • Architecting client game logic.
  • Leading development for a product team working alongside and mentoring another Unity Developers.
  • Responsibility for accuracy of project code estimates during the preproduction phase and beyond.
  • Developing shaders, particle systems and custom effects.
  • Helping integrate 3rd party SDK’s.
  • Collaborating closely with your product team including other Unity Developers, artists, a Games Designer and Games Producer.

Marketing

Marketing Designer
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, (part of Endemol Shine Group) are looking for a talented Marketing Designer who is a fast learner and keen to experiment with new software and features.
Your role within Good Catch
The role requires the individual to take responsibility and deliver industry beating marketing creatives for our games. Other responsibilities include:
  • Storyboarding and producing exciting videos & static creatives to advertise our games. Including game trailers, app store screenshots & social media posts.
  • Designing visually pleasing marketing creatives to brief using game assets which will attract new players.
  • Ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.
  • Being creative! Openly suggesting more beautiful, fun and dynamic ways to do things, and back that them up by trying. We want to learn from you!
  • Collaborating closely with product and marketing teams consisting of artists, game designers, producers and developers.
Required skills
You’re a creative person with a passion for games. Other required skills include:
  • Video production skills using Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop for the design of static creatives and GIFs.
  • Ability to work in multiple varied art styles and adapt style for the target audience.
  • Experience and understanding of key design principles (particularly colour).
  • Experience of designing graphics and video which feature copy.
You must be able to present a portfolio of work demonstrating the skills above.
  • Working within constraints to a written or verbal brief.

Quality Assurance

QA Manager
Overview
The games development company, Good Catch, are looking for a QA Manager to oversee quality assurance for our entire product portfolio. The candidate will coordinate testing and execute test plans on pre-release and live mobile software.
Your role within Good Catch
We are looking for a QA Manager who has a passion for gaming. Your primary job will be to manage quality assurance across our game portfolio. Other responsibilities include:
  • Managing internal and external QA Teams across multiple mobile projects in development.
  • Working in development consoles for mobile products, such as iTunes Connect, Google Play, and Amazon Dev Console.
  • Designing and developing comprehensive test strategy, test plan, and test cases.
  • Providing QA sign-off on products prior to release.
  • Conducting QA Status Update meetings
  • Assisting with hands-on testing of games for general bugs, ease of use, consistency, quality, and compatibility.
  • Managing multiple bug databases, reviewing and assigning bugs daily.
  • Conducting vendor negotiations, scheduling test coverage with external teams as needed.
  • Creating repeatable processes to improve efficiency and predictability
  • Oversee customer relationship management to ensure that all testing required from product user feedback leads into bug testing
The skills you hold:
You’re passionate about gaming and products. You’re a great people manager and you know how to influence people and reach objectives. Other skills include:
  • 3+ years QA experience with a comprehensive understanding of software development and testing.
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms, live updates, and emerging technologies.
  • Respond effectively to multiple frequently changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of production tools: JIRA, Trello and Excel
  • Comfortable with identifying, assessing and solving problems quickly
  • Excellent communicator in speech and writing
  • A very good eye for detail.

A very good candidate will have:
  • 2+ years QA Lead or Management experience
  • Experience with using Android Studio and xCode
  • Experience of Unity development
